What is a good present to give my sister for her baby shower?

Published by admin on September 8, 2010

My sister is having her baby shower this November and Im looking for a good gift. I am 14 and dont have a lot of money however im willing to do something creative. I have already thought of a scrapbook. Any other ideas out there?

And please keep in mind its going to be a girl christmas baby (December 28th).

The scrap book is a wonderful idea, when you’re putting it together..put in pictures of your sister growing up if you can, and that way they can always compare how alike they look, and if your sister hands down the scrapbook to her daughter, she’ll always have pics of her mom as well.

Other than the scrap book, how about a "first christmas" ornament or a family ornament with all of their names on it? That is if your neice is actually born BEFORE xmas. You could always write a poem on how your sister is now a mom, I’m sure you can get ideas from the computer about how to word it.

There is always gift cards. I’m sure she’ll have more than enough clothes and such given to her. If all else fails, give her a little coupon book that you make up stating..you’ll do diaper changes, free babysitting (within limits) help her w/ house work (while she’s getting used to being mommy) etc.

Is anyone on here a Stampin Up demonstrator?

Published by admin on September 7, 2010

I am interested in becoming a stampin up demonstrator. Can you really make money off of this? I have a scrapbook room in my house and want to fill it with lots of stuff. I am also a corporate trainer so I have the professional background for it. I thought it would be fun, but wonder if I could get anything out of doing it, other then the joy of knowing I helped someone of course (Insert Smile here.)

Hello! My name is Tara. Like you, I dedided to become a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator not too long ago. I love the products and have always done card making and scrapbooking. Why not put that hobby to better use by creating a business!

The best way for you to become a demonstrator or find out more about becoming one is to use the www.stampinup.com website. There is a "Find a demonstrator" link that will take you to a page where you can find demonstrators in your area. As demonstrators, we are always happy to help and love getting new people started in thier own demonstrator businesses.

If you have questions, I would be happy to answer them! You can email me at HudsonValleyStamping@gmail.com or visit my web site at HudsonValleyStamping.stampinup.net or HudsonValleyStamping.com

Published by admin on September 5, 2010

I am making a scrapbook for my Ap euro class and I want to print out the type of money that Oskar Schindler was loaded with? And where can i find a good picture of it? Thanks

Zloty is used in Poland

So it would be either zloty or the German reichsmark.

I’m not sure what they used in the movie.

A Tour of my Scrapbook Room

Published by admin on September 4, 2010

Tucked away under the eaves of my house, my scrap room is my favorite place to be. All the pressures of the day seem to melt away when I’m in here and time passes so quickly that I often miss my bed time. LOL

Scrapbook Adhesive?

Published by admin on September 4, 2010

I am making a scrapbook for my fiance for our 1 year anniversary. I was wondering what you would say the best scrapbook adhesives are. I don’t want the adhesive to be noticeable either like it would be with something like Elmer’s runny glue, plus more for my money is definitely a plus. Any advice?

There are a lot of different kinds. Some are really for a particular use and some are a good multi-purpose adhesive. Here is a partial list to guide you. :)

TYPES:

-glue sticks (widely available by many brands) – doesn’t work very well on vellum and I don’t like it very much on heavy stuff

-photo squares or mounting squares (double sided adhesive tape cut into squares, widely available by many brands) Here are some brands: Fiskars, Scrapbook Adhesives – this is a good multi-purpose item, would definitely have on hand

-tape runner (a hand held dispenser applies a "tape" of adhesive to the paper-permanent, removable, vellum…, widely available by many brands) Here are some names: Mono Adhesive Permanent Bond or Removable Bond (made by Tombo), 3L E – Z Runner, Herma, Therm O, EK Success – good all purpose adhesive, more costly but is quick to use

-glue dots (a dot of adhesive that is pretty strong, use for attaching heavy things, widely available by many brands) Here are some brands: Glue Dots, EK Success, Therm O, K & Co. – would use these to hold heavy items, like embellishments, I wouldn’t use these for just paper – good to have on hand though!

-double sided tape (a roll of double sided tape, you can get permanent or re-positionable: when it isn’t permanent-this can allow you to try an image in a certain place before committing to it’s location) Here are some brands: Therm O, K & Co., Art Accentz – multi purpose adhesive but I like photo squares better

-glue pen (starts out blue and becomes clear) Made by Zig 2 – can use on vellum and a few other things, more of a specialty item

-vellum tape (for use on vellum paper) Here are some brands: Scotch, K & Co. – good to have on hand if you work with vellum a lot

-foam dots (adhesive foam shapes for raising images) Here are some brands: EK Success – great if you want to raise an image or item up off the paper

-photo mounting tape (just like regular tape but for scrapbooking) Brand: Scotch – another adhesive but you can just use photo squares

-and then, of course, there is a Xyron machine(s) that can turn anything relatively flat into a sticker, it can laminate, and it can magnetize items (it just depends on what machine you get)

I know that was a lot of information but I wanted to help you with the different kinds. There are still other types out there, but how many can a girl list?!?!? :) Hope this helps you. Happy scrapping!

What would be the perfect birthday present for my grandmother?

Published by admin on September 2, 2010

Its her 85th birthday in 5 days and I want to do something so memorable and wonderful that she loves more than any gift ever. I do not have too much money either and she hates presents. My sister is making her a scrapbook full of pictures, but I want to do something even better. Ideas please!?!?!

she is 85,don’t give her the present costing too much, give her something special which can recall her beautiful and warm memory.
what is warm,family i think.
what can recall her of these happy time?album…
make an album for her,the kind that can be played on TV so you can share the warm memory together.all you need is photos or pictures of the sweet time and a tool to help you do that.
collecting photos isn’t a problem,right?
the problem is the tool, but don’t worry,i know one can help.
it’s Digital Album Master, you can add a lots of pictures, and add background music, and the slide effect is amazing.after you do that, burn it in a blank DVD so you can share together.i think that’ll make you grandma moved.
you can get it here http://www.makemymtv.com
